The OFFICE OF ASIA ENGAGEMENT (OAE) provides strategic planning, support, and coordination for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s engagement in Asia by collaborating with campus partners to develop and execute innovative programs that contribute to global learning, research, and service opportunities.

Engages students, faculty, and administrators across campus in important international partnerships, streamlining partnership development and fostering collaboration.
EDUCATING STUDENTS TO
BECOME GLOBAL LEADERS
Provides diverse opportunities for students to gain international experience by connecting them with research projects, academic programs and career opportunities.
PROMOTING A WELCOMING
Promoting a Welcoming Campus Climate Promotes a diverse and welcoming campus through its programs, including the development of the Commission for AAPI.
In partnership with the Global Research Office, OAE facilitates efforts for faculty to seek grant funding and build research collaborations with global partners.
CONNECTING THE AAPI COMMUNITY
Leverages campus and community resources to provide opportunities to engage campus and local AAPI communities. Ensures a welcoming community through partnerships with non-profit organizations, state and municipal governments.
ENGAGING ALUMNI IN ASIA
Creates opportunities for UT alumni in Asia to engage with the university and each other. Hosts in-person and virtual alumni events in partnership with the Alumni Affairs Office.
