Temporary International Advising Changes and Processing Backlog

The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office is issuing this announcement in order to provide updates regarding the current processing backlog. It is the ISSS team’s goal to see that we are providing good service to students, staff, researchers and faculty, who depend on us for immigration documents.

We have experienced a significant increase in the number of immigration document requests, and have seen our processing backlog increase significantly. To ensure that there is not a delay for anyone due to a backlog, the following actions are being taken.

Drop-in advising on Tuesdays and Wednesdays has been changed to virtual only until August 1, 2023. We will still have in-person drop-in advising on Mondays and Thursdays in the International House. This allows us to better leverage hybrid workers for additional services and reduce the current wait times.

Please remember, you can access virtual drop-in advising from 11:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday at https://tennessee.zoom.us/j/2238501110.
