According to the artist, “I captured this photo while watching Flamengo take on Botafogo at Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in March of 2020. During the game we watched this stunning sunset overtake the sky while sitting amongst thousands of cheering Flamengo fans. This photo demonstrates the duality of the beauty I found in Brazil. The physical beauty of the country was astounding with lush rainforests, mountains, and beaches, but the culture I explored and the people I met were just as beautiful as the landscape itself. I studied in a country full of passionate, generous, and welcoming people who taught me lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
