Bakke was responsible for helping to deliver food aid to more than 6 million Congolese facing food insecurity in a conflict that has lasted more than thirty years.
Facing incredible logistical challenges as road networks were largely impassable, Jordan worked in refugee camps to develop the logistical plan necessary to deliver food aid and scan the biometrics of recipients to ensure food was getting to those who were most at risk of severe malnutrition.
As a UT undergraduate, Bakke did a semester-long exchange program at the University of Ghana and went on a joint Religious Studies-Anthropology faculty-led program to Gulu, Uganda. He credits thse experiences in solidifying his career trajectory by providing the self-confidence, career preparation and academic skills to launch needed to pursue international humanitarian relief.
After recently completing his contract with the United Nations, Jordan is weighing admissions offers from the London School of Economics and Georgetown University to pursue graduate study in the fall of 2025.
