The TNWAC has a long-standing relationship with multiple units on UT campus and is collaborating with CGE on a wide range of education initiatives, especially those focused on supporting students in their role as global citizens.

“The Tennessee World Affairs Council embodies the very essence of the global mission of UT. As an educational non-profit, TNWAC seeks to raise international awareness, understanding, and connections to enhance the region’s global stature and to prepare Tennesseans to thrive in our increasingly complex and connected world.” Neisler said.

Neisler assumed the role of the Vice Provost for International Affairs since 2018 and has over 20 years of academic work building global networks.

“I am honored to serve on their Board of Directors. This opportunity enables the University to enhance its presence in the state and bring awareness to the impact of our global work,” added Neisler.

The TNWAC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational association that promotes international awareness and understanding to enhance Tennesseans’ role throughout the global engagement. TNWAC launched in 2007 and has collaborated with UT on numerous occasions.

Neisler’s role on the Board of Directors will create new opportunities to share global affairs education resources with high school and university students.

“We have worked together on programs at the UT campus from time to time. But the new relationship, being fostered by Dr. Neisler, is a great opportunity to reach more students, teachers, and communities with information and resources to understand global developments in an increasingly complex world.” Patrick Ryan, TNWAC President said.

Neisler’s insights and experience as Vice Provost will bring an added perspective to TNWAC’s mission, contributing to the importance of informing and educating Tennessee residents.
